Warts (verrucae) are small, rough skin growths caused by HPV. They commonly appear on the hands (rough, dome-shaped or cauliflower-like), the soles as hard patches with dark specks (plantar), or as small flat-topped growths in groups. They are usually harmless and often clear on their own, but can be treated to speed healing or limit spread.
